January 11 2010: Happy New Year
I wound up spending a few extra days in Atlanta with my family after the forecast called for snow. We were going to head home Monday but snow, SNOW, was gonna fall on Thursday. I am from Albany, Georgia. Deep southwest Georgia. We used to stand outside and practically will flakes to fall from the sky. Many times we settled for sleet but hey, it wasn’t rain. I have been in snow less than 10 times in my life and always get excited to see flakes floating and wanted Jack to see in person what he has only seen on television.

My son is healthy and his momma and I are in love and partners in his life and in each others.
Mom is just steady kickin’ butt.
Bobby has met a fantastic girl and has an inner peace and happiness that has been the only part missing in an otherwise full and happy life.

November 30 2009: I’m Back!
I just finished the last of the leftovers from Thanksgiving…...I weigh 475 pounds now so don’t be surprised when you see me on QVC tomorrow. That’s me, not a special value on holiday blimps. Of course its mom’s fault. If she could cook just a little less than perfect it would be a big help.

October 05 2009: Remember me?
Well, we have made it past the halfway mark of our tour and I haven’t gained a pound yet…knock on wood. The family rolled home from a super weekend at Disney yesterday. This was the fourth year I have done the Epcot food and wine festival and this is the first year without a drop of rain.

Bobby and I have three interviews this morning and we are planning our book launch here in Savannah next week. Y’all load up and head down next Thursday night and join us from five to seven at The Paula Deen Store. We will be signing books and celebrating the release of Take It Easy, mom is gonna introduce us and stick around to meet everybody.

August 25 2009: What a fun day…
My “baby” is three…..Damn, where does time go? I remember driving home with the radio off, two hands on the wheel and reaching a top speed of 35mph like it happened yesterday. He had his three year old check-up today and Dr. Ben said he is the heathest he has ever been.
