Well, you can’t win ‘em all…..

but those hated Florida Gators are gonna try.
Yes, my Dawgs lost to Florida Saturday(again) but we don't give up hope in the Bulldog Nation. It's important we keep our heads up and stay focused. With two SEC games left on the schedule and the Georgia-Ga.Tech game coming up there is still a lot to play for! Go Dawgs!
I do believe I am going to send Mr. Tebow a graduation gift though.....
We made it home safe from California, albeit with a gnarly west coast cold. It was a most awesome trip. The WE (women's empowerment) conference that First Lady Shriver invited us to participate in was a blast. There were 10,000 women in attendance and I bet I didn't see 100 men. All the restrooms had been converted to women's and I was finally able to find a coffee can out back that was set up for the guys. Bobby and I did a question and answer that was well attended and our book signing was a success...y'all know we always worry no one will show up, and of course mom was a big hit.
After the conference we were invited to the speakers tent for a dessert reception hosted by Maria Shriver and it was quite the experence.
The first person I met was Kate Gosslin, who seemed perfectly nice, a little guarded but who can blame her. It was a real thrill for me to be able to meet Katie Couric, love her or hate her, she is the first women on the nightly news desk and just a beautiful woman. Robin Roberts from GMA saw me and came over to speak, she is super nice and we always have fun visiting. I was able to spend about five minutes with Maria and after thanking her for having us we spoke about how fortunate we both are to have strong mothers to help guide us through life. Her mom has just recently passed away and I felt the time we spent was special. And just before I slipped out, I had a 3:30 am wake up call, I was able to speak to Captain Sullenberger the pilot that landed US Air flight 1549 in the Hudson River.
Oh, and Kathy Griffin was with us a good bit of the two days we spent out there...she is in spite of what you may have seen, a very nice person and has become a friend to our family.
So that's it. One big slam bam filled weekend in LA and now I'm back home, thankfully, right where I belong.
For a whole week.....
We are headed to DC this weekend for the Metropolitan Food and Wine EXPO. If any of y'all are near DC come on out and see us. Mom is doing a demo and Bobby and I are taking the stage a little after her with a book signing in between. It's gonna be a fun time and best of all, I will have Brooke and Jack with me.
Thanks for checking back in...sorry I have been so hard to nail down but the holidays are coming up and my schedule will flatten out enough for me to get back to my normal routine.
Do good things....

Those darn Gators…..My friend and I are thinking of sending Mr. Tebow a gift ourselves, wodering if we are thinking along the same lines on what gift to send him? You are right if you are a DAWGS fan hold your head high and keep on loving them….
Glad to hear all is well with you and the family. Missing Bobby on Twitter, I wish you and your family lot’s of love and happiness….

Hi Jamie,
So great to hear that the tour has been going great and almost completed!! We here in California really admire our first lady, she has done wonders, and the women’s conference shows it!! Captain Sullenberger lives not too far from us here in the Bay Area, such a humble man. He is a captain with United and my son is a captain with Continental, not everyone realizes the amount of training these guys go through and the ability they have when anything comes up.
Safe travels to DC and hope Jack gets to see a lot of the Capitol!!
Diane on November 03 2009
Sorry Jamie,
Captain Sullenberger works for US Air not United!! Big United base here in San Francisco so it’s easy to put the wrong name in.
Have a great time in DC and posts pictures if you can.

Hey Jamie Deen!!!
Welcome back and safe travels!!!!
Sounds like you and yours were very busy. Met some amazing people, even if you did have to look for a coffee can!!!
Alot of power and strength in one room, that’s for sure!
I am in awe just hearing about it!
So glad you will travel with Brooke and Jack to DC. I know how much you love them and they will make your trip so much more fun! Seeing any place, thru sweet baby Jack’s eyes, will give you such a differebt perspective. He is a doll baby! What a big boy he is! The Good Housekeeping magazine photos are wonderful!!!

Glad you guys are staying safe being on the road so much. It was good to get the update. Home for a week, hope you gets lots of rest, but bet you will be popping in at TLAS. You guys do so much. I really enjoyed meeting you and Bobby in July. Just wanted to know if you have tried the graham cracker cake yet? If so, let me know how you liked it. Karen

Hi Jamie! I feel your pain—I was so pulling for the Dawgs this weekend too! Glad you all have had safe travels and that things are beginning to wind down some for you. Was in the restaurant today but just missed you—someone said you were upstairs trying to catch up on computer work (probably this blog) and that Bobby was back in LA—does he ever work anymore??? (LOL). Ya’ll have gotten to do so many neat things & meet so many different people that the average person would never get to do—what a blessing that is. Have a safe trip to DC this weekend. Hope to see ya’ll soon. I will be back in town around Thanksgiving.

So glad to hear you all had a great trip and met so many wonderful people! I just wanted to tell you that my brother and sister in law visited Savannah while you all were away and they ate at the Lady and Sons and said it was the best home cooked food they have ever had (and my brother is way picky)! I haven’t ever had the opportunity to visit the restaurant myself and couldn’t go this trip either because I’m almost 39 weeks pregnant but they brought me back some fried green tomatoes and they made it all the way back to WV and were just as delicious as I hoped they would be! They also picked me up some cute little clothes for my little ones! Thanks so much for all you do and hopefully after I have my baby I’ll be able to take a road trip and finally visit!

Hey Jamie,
So sorry about the Dawgs, I hated to hear that they lost. Didn’t get to watch too much football this weekend. I attended my first NASCAR race on Sunday at the Talladega Speedway in Alabama. I am a HUGE race fan and was so excited about being there. My favorite driver, KASEY KAHNE #9, even finished in 2nd place (he should have won though). I can’t wait to go to another race. I have gotten to do 2 things this year that I have been dreaming about for a long time. That would be meeting You & Bobby and going to a NASCAR race. This year has been so exciting for me and one that I will never forget. Glad you had a great time in California. And I know you can’t wait to be home for a while. That’s all for now. Tell Bobby HEY for me…Thanks. Have a GREAT week!!!

Hey Ya’ll!! Thanks for making my day!! I popped into the Paula Deen Store for a CD and was pleasantly surprised to see BOTH of you in the store. Bobby, I guess I have to take my previous comment back since you were at work today LOL. All joking aside, ya’ll both look great and I really enjoyed talking to you, it has been awhile. Now that the book tour is winding down, I hope that both of you will be able to get some well deserved rest and get to catch a few of the remaining Georgia games. Since the Dawgs don’t play us (Alabama) this year, I can say GO DAWGS!!! I guess that is really practice for when I make my move. Looks like I will have to conform since Savannah is the heart of Bulldog country, but I will never convert
ROLL TIDE!! Take care and see you soon.

Hey Jamie,
Hope you stop by my office on your way to the Convention Center in DC. I work at the Red Cross. Tickets were sold out before I even knew you’d be here. DRAT! It sounds like you had a great time in California. 10,000 women huh? I’m sure your younger brother had a REALLY good time! Well safe trip to DC!

Hey Jamie,
It’s good to hear from you!
I hope you enjoy DC with Jack and Brooke. If you get a chance you should take Jack to the Air and Space Museum. I’m sure he would love the planes. I mean what little boy doesn’t like planes!
All your fans in Louisville are glad you and Bobby came to visit. By the way where is BD, he needs to start leaving pictures and tweets again.
Take care Deen Brothers!

I’m taking my mother-in-law, Debbi, for her birthday - how about making her a birthday cake.
Have a safe trip and plenty of fun with your family.

Hey Jamie,
Thank you to you and Bobby for taking the time to chat with my sister and I yesterday when we were at the restaurant. I’m the person who works at the UGA Libraries. Food was amazing! I think next time I’m trying the crab cakes.
Oh yeah, I forgot to ask you what your favorite Athens restaurants are? Anyhow, I hope you and Brooke enjoy the Auburn game and that you all have a wonderful rest of the year! It’d be great if that Hargrett Library event could work out some time.
Go Dawgs! (of course) Sheila.

Hi Jamie,
Hope you’re feeling better. I’m with Shari, what about your “Blog Girls” in Arizona?!? Haha!! But I know how busy you are..hope it just slipped your mind. ![]()
I agree with you about the Woman’s Conference, I think the only men I saw there were you and Bobby, some other speakers and the Secret Service guys around Carolyn Kennedy (they looked like the type not to stop for pictures!)LOL…ok, well maybe I saw a few more men in the booths, but not too many! We are looking forward to going again next year, we had a blast!!
Bobby, as far as twitter goes, you are missed. But I have to say I agree with you. You have to do what you feel is right for you. Maybe your awesome minion, Lisa can help you find a better alternative!
Have a great time in DC! Safe travels.

Hey Jamey!!
It’s been a year since my friend and I visited your awesome restaurant and store….the trip of a life time!!
I’m from Northern Minnesota and a breast cancer survivor-ring any bells? I asked you why you and “Bobby” have never been up here to visit and you quickly asked “what the temp. was up here that day?” When I replied “28” you said, “that’s why”! LOL
Am planning another trip down and can’t wait to introduce my husband to your moms home cooking and the awesome “Southern Hospitality!!
Blesings to you all!!!

Hey Jamie and Bobby, I know you are “somewhere out there” for the book signing but thought you guys might want to know that Urban Meyer was fined $30,000 for criticizing the officials at the Gator/Dawgs game. The SEC imposed it.

Hey there,
Saw you in DC at the Metro Food & Entertaining Show. Thanks for stopping by! I wish we could have learned more about Paula, your family, and food rather than hearing person after person from the audience ask to go on stage! Yeesh! You guys were great though. I love Savannah and hope to see you down there soon too!

Hey Bros: just have to “brag” about the GATORS.
Watched the game. GREAT. The sports section of the paper with big headlines said, “Gators Chomp Dawgs”. I didn’t realize that they brought the mascot with them. He’s so homely, he’s cute.
Glad to hear from you. Thought maybe you forgot about us. Wish you would send us some pictures of you guys out there doing good things. Looking forward to the new site in December.
Just finished watching Paula on TV. Even though it’s a rerun, it’s fun to watch.
Back to my computer and work that’s staring me in the face. Hey Bobby, aren’t you going to twitter to us??:??
