Happy Birthday Mom!

Today is the big day for mom, she has turned.....one year older. And one year better. I love you mom, wishing you a awesomely special day with many, many more to follow.
OK.
The rumor mill has been grinding hard enough to spark a brush fire so its time I sprinkled a little water on it. Does anyone out there think I could hold back the news of another baby? Seriously, when Brooke and I are blessed with our second child you won't need to check my blog, you will hear me yelling in your living room. On that note though, we are getting closer to growing our family.
I'm sorry, was there a report of snow in hell and I missed the memo? No, Bobby is not engaged/expecting a baby.
I can't believe I didn't mention Bobby's appearance on the front page of the National Enquirer during the week of Christmas. Did y'all see that? I was returning a tablecloth to Target that didn't fit our table and just happened to glance over and I like to have fell down on the floor! Bobby in a banner claiming that Kate Gosslin was in love with Paula Deen's son! Soooo funny.
I immediately bought every copy off the rack and had to explain to the check out person that(!) was my(!) brother! She looked at me and looked at the magazine and looked at me and said 'Wait a minute..... are you?....well, is it true?"
I wet my pants a little bit I was laughing so hard.
I ran to Atwell's and had my friend Lisa frame it up so I could give it to him at the Christmas party. I got to tell y'all, it made my holidays.

On May the 15th we are hosting an open house at mom's to benefit Bethesda Home for Boys here in Savannah so if you have the time come down to Savannah and take a stroll through the kitchen that you see us cook in on Best Dishes. Oh that is soo funny! I would have done that to my brother or sisters too!! I am ssoo glad that Bobby is neither engaged/expecting a baby or seeing Kate Gosselin! I did think it was you and Brooke expecting, that would have been wonderful! Well, you can always try, try and try again!! lol Now I am really intriqued….Well, have a nice day and always do good!

Seems like the entire Deen family has this wee little problem with wettin’ their britches and then TELLING THE WORLD WIDE WEB! I believe you when you say you won’t keep secrets from your squillions of adoring fans, lol.

I too saw the “Enquirer” while waiting in line at the grocery store.

Love this blog. Jamie you had me cracking up on this one. I needed it too. Can’t imagine seeing your own brother’s face on the magazine. Too funny.
Well we are on pins and needles waiting for the news you have to share with us!!!
I was going on the cruise but sadly had to cancel. My dad has been diagnosed with colon cancer and I am staying put. I need to help him with surgery and everything else. Not to mention take care of my mom. They are all I have and I must take care of them.
I hope everyone has a great time on the cruise and enjoys life.
I will be there in May for dinner. Wouldn’t miss it for the world and it is for a great cause.

Oh my gosh…that is such a great story about Bobby. I guess I missed it while I was in the grocery store….I know I would have done a double take. I would loved to have been there when you saw the article. Better yet I wished I had been a fly on the wall at the Christmas party when Bobby saw the frame…pricless!

Hi Jamie,
I was in Savannah this past weekend and got to eat at the Lady and Sons on Sunday. It was great!!! I was in Savannah for a volksmarch (fun walk) weekend. I did a 10K walk on Sunday (plus 2 5K walks on Saturday) so I could “cheat” a bit on my diet on Sunday.
I also missed the Enquirer - I would have loved to see it, and the reactions of you at the store and Bobby to the framed version. 
Happy Birthday to your Mom - I hope everyone enjoys the cruise. I look forward to hearing about it.

I finished reading your mom’s autobiography on my Kindle on an overnight flight last night. I read the last lines as her birthday dawned on California and it was such an incredible story. I cried many tears reading it! Hope I have children to love someday as much as your momma loves you and Bobby! How blessed you all are.

Jamie, I saw that tabolid at the store one day and I had to look again to make sure I read the headline correctly. I couldn’t believe they put Kate Gosslin and Bobby together. That would be an adjustment, going from a bachelor to eight kids, LOL!
Are y’all going to open up a Paula Deen Buffet at another Casino? I am wondering if that’s your new addition??

Belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY to your Mom and congrats to Bobby and his special lady, I thought he would be a great next ‘Bachelor’ before I read about her. I am in mid. Michigan where snow is falling as I type, I wish we could send some to Jack, tell him our dog Maxx loves it, he rolls in it, plows his nose thru it and slides down the snow mountains that get plowed up in the yard, lotsa fun.
We donated Beanies for a holiday showbox program and have Teddy Bears ready to deliver soon for another program where the need continues.
Thank you for your blog, I love reading about your family adventures for smiles and inspiration. Don’t forget to visit Michigan sometime soon, it’s beautiful in summer and winter, the beaches, sand dunes, lighthouses etc.

Hi Jennifer - I live in California, Central California to be exact. We have not booked a hotel yet, I’m hoping my Mom can find us a nice place using her timeshare (RCI trade I think). When we get it booked I’ll let you know. Our plan is to fly out Thur. night (5/13), so far all the flights are overnight which will put us in Savannah Friday morning. I told my daughter we are standing in line ALL day to get into the Lady and Sons Restaurant (it’s on my life “to do” list and I’m doing it). I’m hoping to be able to do some sightseeing Saturday, Savannah is so historical! My daughter and I will spend a fair amount of time “dolling up” for the dinner Saturday night and we head home to California Sunday. Whirlwind trip and I am so excited about EVERYTHING! So Jennifer, where are you from? It will be nice to meet you at Paula’s (I love saying that).

Last time I was in Savannah there was talk of you guys doing something with the old Sorry Charlie’s building maybe a TV studio- could that be the addition to the “family” ? It’s a great location there on the new Ellis Square !! My hubby and I are bringing my mom (her first time) to Savannah for Spring vacation and her only thing she cares about is eating at The Lady and Sons so I’m counting down the days til then…Happy Tuesday !!
