Fall is in the air….

which means we are gonna top out at 80 degrees today.
Hey y’all-
We sure are happy down here to get a much needed break in the weather! It’s not like Texas with 1000 days above one hundred but the humidity takes a toll and when the temperature gets down in the sixties I celebrate.
Our whole family was together in NY this past weekend for the Food and Wine Festival and we had a great time. Mom and Bobby went up Thursday or Friday and I flew up Sunday to attend mom’s brunch and she came over to see our cooking demo. It was my first stage work with Bobby since Matthew was born and it was so much fun to get back to work.
I was not able to take part in the commercial they shot Saturday because I was fortunate enough to host the 6th annual Buddy Walk here celebrating the Low Country Down Syndrome Society and all the great work they do for the third year. I am able to pitch in with some great organizations in Savannah and the LCDSS is one of my favorite’s. Brian Hussey and the entire team work effortlessly in our community to provide support and resources to family’s with special need folks. Over four thousand people came out and we had such an awesome day that I (almost) forgot about my Dawgs playing a very important game just 4 hours up the road. (A hearty thanks to the hated Gamecocks and more hated Gators for letting us back in the hunt for the SEC East title.)
Speaking of great community work, I had a chance to meet with the Food Bank of New York team and I don’t see how they are able to deal with the challenges they face. They help feed millions of people in need every year and are just a great group that all sacrifice for the good of the five boroughs of NYC. The generosity of the Food and Wine festival plays a huge part as every dollar of profit goes directly to the food bank so this weekend was all about having fun, giving back and making a difference in peoples lives.
Y’all take time out of your week to find out what I have learned in the last few years….The more you give, the more you receive!

So nice to get an update, how is baby Matthew? How is Brooke and Jack? Hugs to all of you! I’ve been under the weather myself but my kids are rock stars and are taking such good care of me. I love to see everything you are up to. Giving back is our motto, it is so true the more you give the more you receive. I’m so glad you are able to keep up via blog Jamie!
